Ksar Assalassil est situé au cœur de la grande palmeraie de Tafilalet, au sud-est marocain, porte du désert à environ 01 Km du centre de la ville d’Erfoud en venant du nord. Cette situation le protège efficacement contre les violences du vent du désert quand il y en a, ainsi que contre les fortes chaleurs de la saison d’été. Il comprend 14 chambres dont quatre suites juniors et une suite senior. On y trouve un confort moderne adapté aux exigences de chacun, avec un personnel stylé: salle de bain complète avec une fenêtre ouvrant, comme celle des chambres, sur la verdure, climatisation individuelle, dressing, télévision, téléphone, connexion Internet et minibar. La disposition architecturale du bâtiment suit le plan des anciens caravansérails, soit une grande cour centrale entourée de galeries sur lesquelles donnent les portes des chambres ; l’ensemble, tant le gabarit des fenêtres, celui des arcades ouvrant sur la cour, que les dimensions générales de la construction suit les proportions retrouvées dans les anciennes ruines du XII-XIIIe siècle de la région, soit le rapport que l’on trouve d’ailleurs dans toutes les civilisations à grande architecture, communément appelé nombre d’or. Ksar Assalassil dispose d’un grand restaurant, proposant aux choix une cuisine marocaine ou internationale, un salon de dimension importante, comprenant une partie à la marocaine et une autre à l’européenne, donnant par un rideau de scène sur une salle de musique équipée de deux pianos (un demi-queue et un quart- queue) parfaitement entretenus. De l’autre côté, dans une autre grande salle, se trouve une bibliothèque. Ksar Assalassil se trouve ainsi le seul dans le secteur prêt à recevoir des artistes musiciens désirant entretenir leur technique pendant leur séjour, ainsi que des séminaires concernant des objets culturels intéressant la région, comme le paléontologie, la paléobotanique etc. Un grand parc avec une piscine pour adultes et enfants ainsi que nombreuses pièces d’eau avec poissons rouge entoure le bâtiment. Des allées ombragées permettent les promenades de détente. Une terrasse devant le Riad du côté de la piscine avec un snack bar peut recevoir les clients désireux de profiter de la douceur des fins d’après-midi. Au sommet de la construction se trouve une immense terrasse, avec vue panoramique de 360 degrés sur la palmeraie, ainsi que sur les reliefs plus lointains du désert.
